British Side by Side Championsips 2013
Shooting will commence at 9.00am and each squad will have an allotted start time in 20
minute intervals. We will shoot through the lunchtime period and finish around 4.00pm when a buffet will be served. This will then be followed by prize giving. Should you be eligible for a prize you must collect on the day at this time, sponsored prizes will be as provided and are not exchangeable.
As in previous years the classifications will be decided on the basis of British or Imported gun. Shooters will only be eligible to be “British Side by Side Champion 2013” if they compete with a British made gun. However, there will be an award for the highest scoring Imported Gun as well as runner up places, irrespective of gauge, hammer or hammerless.
However, British made guns will also compete in their respect gauges, hammer and hammerless guns competing in the same class. Awards will be given in each of these classes for 1st place; however, the overall Champion and runner up will be excluded from awards in their individual classes. In addition there will be prizes for High Gun for veterans (over 60), ladies and juniors (Under 18). The shoot will comprise of 100 targets, simulating typical English Quarry, spread over 12 stands, including our 120’ tower.
The rules will be CPSA Englisth Sporting. All competitors must wear Ear and Eye Protection when shooting.
The entry fee is £45.00, if paid in advance and £48.00 on the day this includes, clays and
buffet, but excludes cartridges which will be available to purchase on the day if required.
Re-entries are allowed, if time and space are available on the day, it is recommended that if you intend to re-enter you book this in advance the price £32.00. Any re-entries will only be eligible to win gauge class and not the British Side by Side Champion or Imported High Gun. Your first card only will entitle you to participate in these respective championships.
Rules
1. Telephone entries only in advance of the day
a. Please call 01234 708893 and have ready the following information
i. Your name, telephone contact details as well as details for any additional
shooters you intend to book in and your BASC membership number
ii. The make of your gun(s)
iii. Whether it is British or Foreign
iv. The Gauge
v. Means of payment, to confirm your entry, and any others you are
booking in (Credit or Debit Card).
vi. Re-entry, if you are intending on re-entering the competition with a
different gun please have the above information available
vii. Preferred start time
2. You will only be able to use one gun per entry, should you change guns during the
competition you will be excluded from any awards.
You are able to re-enter using a different gun upon payment of another entry fee.
Re-entries on the day cannot be guaranteed, so it is recommended that this is done in
advance. Any re-entries will only be eligible to win gauge class and not the British
Side by Side Champion or Imported High Gun. Your first card only will entitle
you to participate in these respective championships.
3. Only a Competitor shooting a British Made Gun is eligible to be “British Side by
Side Champion 2013”, in the event of a draw a shoot off will take place according to
the rules of “English Sporting”.
4. In the event of a draw for any other position in any other class the result will be
established using “count back”.
5. Squads will go out on time so please arrive at least half an hour before you are due to
shoot. In the event you are delayed and miss your shoot time we will do our best to
accommodate you but we cannot guarantee this.
6. All squads will be escorted round the stands by referees, whose decision is final, on
whether a target is hit or lost.
7. Squads will have a maximum size of six, unless the whole squad agrees to a higher
number with an absolute maximum of eight.
8. First Squad time will be 9.00am and the last squad time will be 3.00pm
9. All competitors will wear Hearing and Eye Protection while they are competing,
failure to do so will prohibit participation and/or disqualification from the competition.
10. All shooters will abide by Sporting Targets Club Rules.
11. Guns must be carried broken and unloaded at all times, unless on a designated shooting
stand.
12. Cartridges must not exceed 28 gram load, shot size 6

(Awarded to the highest scoring competitor, over the age of sixty on the day, not already awarded in the first
three categories, irrespective of gun origin or type)
Ladies High Gun
(Awarded to the highest scoring competitor, not already awarded in the first three categories, irrespective of
gun origin or type)
Junior High Gun
(Awarded to the highest scoring competitor, under the age of eighteen on the day, not already awarded in the
first three categories, irrespective of gun origin or type)
