Shotgun Skills Programme
If you are looking at taking up clay pigeon shooting or just starting out on the exciting sport and want to learn more then it may be worth you looking more closely at the “Shot Gun Skills Programme”.
The Shotgun Skill Programme was written and designed by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) with the intention of taking you through the basics of Clay Pigeon Shooting.
You can expect to learn how to use your Shotgun both safely and effectively, from how you stand when shooting to how to clean your gun. The course also cover the different types of shot gun, so if your intending on buying it will give you a good understanding as to the right type of gun for you.
The course also covers gun fit and how your eye sight will impact on your shooting, “eye dominancy”.
You will also learn the various aspects of the modern day shotgun, such as choking and how this will impact on the shot, after it has left the barrel, and how you would change these for different targets.
You will also learn about different types of cartridge, shot sizes and the best type to use when shooting.
The course itself is run by CPSA qualified Acadamy Coaches and lasts about 3 hours; this is split between the classroom environment and practical out on the shooting range.
You do need to be a gun owner to come on the course as everything you need is provided, all you need do is dress for the weather.
