Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Sporting Targets?

You can find us on the A6, in North Bedfordshire, halfway between Bedford and Rushden. We are well signposted with brown tourist signs from the A6 right up to our complex. Alternatively, most satnavs will bring you directly to us, by using the postcode MK44 1BX

How do I book an experience?
Please note that the minimum age for target activities is 10 years old and at least 4ft tall.

To book your experience call us on 01234 708893, with details of your voucher and a preferred date and time. Experiences are operated throughout our normal opening hours, 7 days a week which dependant on daylight. On the day of your experience, wear sensible shoes and dress for the weather as well as comfort. We also ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time.

Please do not forget your voucher, without this we cannot book you in.

Some of the facilities we have available onsite include ample parking, free Wi-Fi, meals and light bites which are served all day, complementary tea and coffee, a bar and a country shop.

Alcohol MUST NOT be consumed until after your experience.

You are welcome to bring friends to watch and there will be plenty of opportunities for them to take pictures and videos.

You can bring dogs with you; however, please consider how they will react to the noise of shotguns. They must be on a lead at all times and kept under absolute control, without exception.

You must not, by law, be prohibited from handling firearms.

How do I book a coaching or instruction Session?

All coaching and instruction sessions need to be pre-booked by calling us on 01234 708893.

As with the experience sessions we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your sessions start time, dress for the weather and wear sensible shoes.

If you are already a shooter you should bring your gun and personal protection equipment with you, cartridges can be included in the session, or you can bring your own. If you are just starting to shoot or do not have all your own equipment this can be provided for you by your instructor.

Please come with an objective and discuss this with your instructor at the start of your session. This sets a goal for the session and means that you can work on a certain target or skill with your instructor. This also ensures that you leave the session with a sense of achievement.

Team Building Day

We attended a Team Building day at Sporting Targets. From correspondence to the day we attended Angela and John were really helpful and accomodating. On the day, all the guys that supervised us were so lovely, they taught us how to use all the equipment, put us at ease as it was most of the teams first experience, it was a lot of fun. The team had a great day, thank you we can't wait to return.

Fantastic experience buying my first gun

Visited today to be fitted and kitted out for my first shotgun. Paul and Tom in the gun shop were fantastic. I'm left handed with a right dominant eye so needed help and advice on choosing what options would work best for me. Not only did they have all the time I could possibly need but they adjusted and let me try various guns, came out to see how I got on with them and advised on what other equipment may be needed with no pressure to buy whatsoever. As a novice I was nervous about choosing my first gun but Paul and Tom made the whole process both positive and enjoyable and I'm even more keen to get back ASAP to continue my new hobby. Thank you both for your help!
