This year's shoot brought the biggest turn out for several years, with seven teams from F1 and their associated industries, as well as seven guest teams and three complete novice teams, all raising money for the F1 Grand Prix Trust.

As well as the shoot itself, 100 targets across 14 different stands, Arlene from the Grand Prix Trust ran a raffle with all sorts of memorabilia, along with contributions from teams and Sporting Targets. A big thank you to Swatcom, Bonart and Jack Pyke for their contributions.

The day started with the shoot itself, experienced shooters being taken round the layout by referees, the novices by instructors. With so many attendees it took some time to get everyone through the course but a Hog Roast awaited them on their return and people remained in high spirits throughout.

It was then time for the results, with award going to the:

Top Formula 1 Team,

Top Guest Team,

Top Novice Team,

Top Formula 1 shooter,

Top Guest Shooter

and Top Novice Shooter

Each team consisted of six shooters, with the top four scores to count.

A full set of results has already been published on our Facebook Pages but the highlights...

Top F1 Team – IG Racing Team A with a score of 309 - Stuart Fox; Gareth Williams; Ian Gardiner; Steve Baddele; Paul Hately

Top F1 Shooter - This was a Tie between Doug Thompson and Stuart Fox scoring 89 each. Stuart is pictured, Doug had other commitments and left before we could grab a picture.

Top Guest Shooter, was Steve Brightwell, a regular competition shooter scoring a magnificent 93

Top Novice Team - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrell Nuts with a score of 240

Top Novice shooter - Shooting his first ever competition Archie Wood scoring a very commendable 70

Congratulation to all the winners!

Next Year 2023

We have set 8th January 2023 for next year’s event, so please spread the word, we are happy to take bookings now. Following on from feedback after this year we plan on changing the format slightly. Novices will shoot a dedicated layout, specifically for them. The Entry fee will include everything they need, cartridges, the appropriate gun and instructor. Experienced shooters will all go out on mass, with everyone finishing at the same time. This will mean that everyone will be present for the raffle and the award ceremony.

Finally, please spread the word put 8th January 2023 in the diary and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
